Tolland’s MCergo office furniture supply company is going downtown.
The 34-year-old business is opening a satellite facility on the first floor
of the City Place building at 185 Asylum St. next week. It’ll be a downtown
showroom for the company’s office furnishings, including newly combined
work stations and exercise equipment.
“Our new location will allow us to showcase the latest ergonomic office
furniture including sit-to-stand conference tables, adjustable-height work
stations, treadmill desks, and our signature Bayside Seating line,” MCergo
President Ronald W. Regan said.
The new shop, which is next to the Max Downtown Restaurant, will have
limited hours to start, Regan said, likely 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or so, but will
offer appointments at any hour to accommodate customers. Appointments
can be arranged by calling 860-872-1234.
Details are available on the company website
In May 2010 the company moved to larger quarters in the former Dari Farms building at 40 Tolland Stage Road in Tolland. It spent a year renovating the 11,000-square-foot space, which is four times the size of the company’s previous 3,000-square-foot location inVernon.
Regan’s father, Ronald Sr., started the office furnishings distribution company in 1979 in East Hartford, moving it to Vernon 20 years ago. MCergo, which stands for “media control ergonomics,” specializes in ergonomically designed office chairs and work stations that can help reduce repetitive work-related disorders among a company’s work force, Regan says.
